BMW M3 e90

BMW M3 e90

Among the especially designed automobile platform from the M3 family of BMW was the e90. This specific platform became the basis of the future current 3-series vehicles after it had replaced the e46. The e90 were composed of vehicle engine range that includes 320i with 110 kW/200 Nm, 325i, 330i with 190 kW/300 Nm in petrol engines and 320d with 120 kW/340 Nm in diesel engines. All of these ranges will be launched in 2005 along with the other Touring models. It was also reported that these ranges would be sporting the feature such as a length of 4520 mm, which is 53 mm longer than the recent 3-Series vehicles. It will also have extensive use of aluminum in front-load bearing structure and a 50:50 front-to-rear weight ratio for sporty handling.

The e90 would also be a new rear wheel drive platform that rides in a wheelbase that is 35mm longer than the current platforms of 3-Series and it would have new 6-cylinder engines with Valvetronic and Direct Injection that has a magnesium block. The e90 engines will rate a 190 kW at 6650 rpm with displacement of 3000cc. More likely, the M3 e90 in the launching will have the 4.0 Liter V8 engine and was expected to offer an AWD package which was originally adapted from the X3 driveline.
