1998 BMW M3

The 1998 BMW M3 received additional feature which is a standard seat-mounted
side airbags increasing its front-seat crash protection. This year, the M3 came
in available in three trims, the coupe, sedan and convertible. All three trims
carried a 3.2 Liter Inline-6 engine that rated 240 horsepower at 6000 rpm and
236 lb-ft of torque at 3800 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission comes standard
while a 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive comes optional on the sedan
and convertible. Fuel economy data for the coupe includes a 20-mpg in city and
28 mpg in highway while the sedan has 19-20 mpg in city and 28 mpg in highway
driving. The convertible, on the other hand, has 19-20 mpg on city and 27-28 mpg
in highway driving.
This year, BMW M3 includes convenience features such as a standard air conditioning,
power windows, power door locks and leather seats. A sunroof and power seats were
available as options. Standard seating capacity is 5. Entertainment features include
a standard cassette player and an optional CD player. Safety features includes
a standard ABS brakes and driver, passenger and side airbags.
